Murray Miskin
Meet Miskin Law Professional Corporation Founder
Murray H. Miskin, is an Ontario lawyer who has been providing legal services in a wide range of areas to Canadians since he was called to the Bar in 1981. Murray Miskin received his BA from Trent University, Peterborough in 1976 and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with his law degree in 1979. After he graduated, he worked mainly on accident claim compensation with two Toronto law firms for 6 years until 1985 before relocating to form a small firm with a friend in Whitby and then opening his own firm there. Murray began to work in Alternative Dispute Resolution in 1984 when he developed and started to teach Arbitration at the University of Toronto. He has worked as an Arbitrator since 1987 and Mediator since 1997.
In April 1988, the first Miskin Law Office was opened in the historic Old Whitby Library. Murray’s law office in Whitby handled personal injury, real estate, wills & estates, and a wide range of other legal work. In 2004 the emphasis of Murray’s practice shifted from accident claims to injury from dangerous products, including prescription drugs and asbestos. The firm had several locations over the years in Whitby then moved its main office to Peterborough in 2012. The experience with product injuries helped Miskin Law become the leading mesothelioma law firm in Canada. With the growth of the firm to now have 4 lawyers Murray has shifted much of his time to firm management and overseeing all areas of practice. In addition to civil court and dispute resolution, Murray is now applying his knowledge and experience to real estate and estate planning. Murray regularly meets with clients at our offices in Peterborough and Oshawa.
Along with managing the firm and consulting on cases, Murray now focuses on Estate Planning to help you make the right decisions when it comes to your family and estate.
