About Chris
Chris has been a civil litigator for over 29 years. He has handled all aspects of a wide variety of files, including personal injury, professional malpractice, employment and estates. He has done both jury and non-jury trials.
Starting out as an associate at Miller Thomson LLP in Toronto, he moved to a boutique Toronto firm and eventually became in-house counsel at State Farm Insurance, now Desjardins Insurance.
In July 2018 he joined Miskin Law in Peterborough, where he practices personal injury law and is now a partner. He obtained a National Institute for Trial Advocacy Diploma in 2005, completed the Arbitration Training course at the ADR Institute, was a member of the Ontario Bar Association's Executive, a member of the Peterborough Law Association's Executive, and editor of the OBA insurance law newsletter.
Before coming to Miskin Law, he was a managing lawyer at Desjardins, overseeing a 17-lawyer litigation team handling tort, Accident Benefit, fraud and subrogation files.
At Miskin Law, Chris has been acting for Plaintiffs seeking compensation as a result of motor vehicle accidents, boating accidents, slip and falls, dog attacks, nursing home negligence, and denied long-term disability benefits.
Before becoming a lawyer, Chris was a health care journalist, writing feature and news articles for The Medical Post, Ontario Medicine, Canadian Medical Association Journal and other publications.
A graduate of Queen's University Law School, he also has a Master's degree from the University of Toronto.
